The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) has announced the cut-off marks for students applying for the 2024/2025 academic session. The cut-off mark is the lowest JAMB score you need to be eligible for admission into the university.
If you want to study at FUPRE, you must meet the required cut-off mark and other admission conditions. Scoring higher than the minimum mark will improve your chances of getting admitted to your preferred course.

Why the Cut-Off Mark is Important
The cut-off mark is set to help the university admit the best students. A higher score shows that you are well-prepared for university education. If your score is lower than the required cut-off mark, you may not be considered for admission. Some departments are more competitive, so they set a higher cut-off mark to admit only the best candidates.
FUPRE Admission Requirements
For UTME (JAMB) Candidates
To apply for admission through UTME, you must:

- Choose the correct JAMB subject combination for your desired course.
- Score at least 180 in JAMB (higher for some courses, as seen in the table).
- Choose FUPRE as your first choice in JAMB.
- Take part in the FUPRE Post-UTME screening and perform well.
- Be at least 16 years old before admission.

Tips to Secure Admission at FUPRE
- Score Higher than the Cut-Off Mark
While the minimum cut-off is 180, try to aim for at least 200 or more, especially if you are applying for competitive courses like Petroleum Engineering or Computer Science. - Prepare Well for Post-UTME
Your Post-UTME performance also determines if you will be admitted. Study past questions and practice regularly. - Choose FUPRE as Your First Choice
The university gives priority to candidates who select FUPRE as their first choice during JAMB registration. - Have the Right Subject Combination
Choosing the wrong subject combination can disqualify you. Check FUPRE’s admission brochure to confirm the required subjects for your course. - Apply for Courses with Lower Competition
Some courses have a lower number of applicants, so you may have a better chance of getting admission if you apply for them.
Conclusion
Before applying, check the admission requirements carefully to make sure you qualify. If you meet all the conditions, watch out for the FUPRE Post-UTME form for 2024/2025 and apply as soon as possible.
